New Jersey Vacation

Posted on December 10th, 2008 in Fashion/Style/Trends, Health/Fitness/Beauty, Recreation & Sports, Society & Culture, travel by jiajun925

I am living the suburb of New York. I have been in New York City two times. Both times we did not enjoy the trip so much. The first time we stayed in the city for one night. Before we went, we had a lot of expectation for the city, you know, because that was our first trip to the biggest city in the world. We even planned to go to listen to some opera. It was hot and sweaty in the city, and we could not check in the hotel a little bit earlier. Our expectation went down and down while the time went by and while we had to stay longer in the crowded street. After we checked in the hotel, our expectation did not come up so much. We spent $250 for the hotel, but it seems that the room was the worst hotel we had even been. It was so narrow and fell behind.
We like travelling very much. We did not give up on finding something interesting in New York City or New Jersey. Since New Jersey is just on the other side of the river and from some information, it is said that New Jersey is a great place for a vacation. And the great thing is that Morey’s Piers offers the holiday sale. So maybe we are going to have a Jersey Shore beach vacation. This time we hope we can find a better hotel and enjoy ourselves.

diabetes

The doctor said I had gestational diabetes. When they did the test to me, I was scared to death because I do not like needles go in and out to my vein even though I am not afraid of needles. I was thinking that needle going in and out of somebody’s vein is the most dangerous and easy way to get all kind of diseases. No matter how I hated the test, they tested on me two times.

I failed in he first time, so they put me on the second test. The second test was much uncomfortable than everything in the world. Everybody who ever had gestational diabetes would know the first time was two tubes of blood, the second time was 4 tubes of blood and 4 times of needles going in and out your vein.

Ok, I failed in both tests. So they put me to some diabetes education program. From the program, they gave me a Onetouch Ultra2 to test my blood by myself. It is 4 times a day poking myself. It is not easy to live in the world. The thing I wanted to say is that when I test by myself only a little drop of blood was needed, why in the doctor’s office, they needed so many tubes?

I was such kind of people who do not believe and enjoy any holidays. When I was an undergraduate student, during the four years I went back to my hometown for only two times. I spent 99% of my time in the campus, among the library, cafeteria and dormitory. I thought, holidays did not belong to me. I thought all the things, such as friendship, love or family were fake.
After I met my honey, I changed a little. We married for 3 years. For many times he asked me about what I wanted for birthday and for some holidays, I always answered nothing. I was thinking if you really love me, there is no need of something to show me. Also he asked what I would give him. Since I do not need, of course I would not give. He always laughed at me.
This year we set up our first Christmas tree in the house. I felt that Christmas is not just giving and receiving something. It is kind of spirit to cheer people up and get some confidence that we can make our life better. Traditionally, people are giving or receiving presents for Christmas. Maybe you are worrying about what to give to your friends or family, in fact, I think it is easy to show your love to them by putting some sentences in the Corporate Holiday Cards. it will convert your love to them and cheer them up as well.
