financial health

Posted on July 16th, 2008 in Business & Economy by jiajun925

Sometime it is really good to know our financial health. So I visited http://www.bills.com/iq/ to see if we are ‘Financially Fit’ or not. It is difficult for me to continue every step with a happy face because our financial situation was not so good. I got to know that we’d better to do Debt consolidation.
We got married 3 years ago. Both of us were poor students in Japan. We graduated in the same time and we came back to USA last September. Fortunately honey got a job; otherwise we had to end up with living in the street.
And then after half a year, we bought a house. Honey sighed that the next 30 years were sold to the bank now. I think many people have the same feeling after they got their house. People think that the bank is the real own for the house because we got a loan from the bank and we have to pay that off in time. Otherwise people just fall into a nightmare with a big debt that could make you have a bankruptcy.
I tried to look for job, but I still did not find any yet because the economy in USA is going down now. Now with honey’s salary, we have to pay for car loan, mortgage and anything that needs money.

the first trip to NYC (14) — taking subway

The second day when we got up, we tried to go to Chinatown in Manhattan. I was thinking to go there and take some pictures of old temples, if there was there.

We went down the ground, the whole thing looks like old caves , or  air-raid shelters. There was no any tools, such as escalates or elevators to help people moving in that. If you were a traveler with a big suit case, definitely in one minute you would get exhausted.

When we got to the entrance, there was another Asian lady could not get into the entrance with the ticket. She went to talk to the staff, fortunately there was a man there. (The second when we went to take subway back, honey got a ticket, but the machine could not recognize the ticket, and he had to buy another ticket. There was no man there you could ask for help.) The black man yelled out “going to the first entry”. But it seems that in such place, people in the box could hear from you, you could not hear so clearly outside of the box.

There were bars on the entry, looking like the gate of jail.

cell phone

When I found free at&t cell phones, I feel that I want to try the new cell phones in USA.
I bought one cell phone last year. It was the newest in USA, but it did not work so well as the one I had in Japan, which I used for more than 3 years.
I had 3 cell phones in Japan totally. All of them were AU. I did not like the first two cell phones so much. After I came to USA, I found that the cell phones in USA are falling behind the ones in Japan at least for 4 years.
Let’s tell you how wonderful the third cell phone I had was. First I got that 4 years ago. The basis cost was 1 Yen, which was $0.009541. You could think that the basis cost was free. And because I was a student, I could get student discount for the calling rate. And the plan I joined already had 100 minutes for free. That was perfect for me. And the functions in the cell phone were wonderful. There was a digital camera in the cell phone with 3.1 Giga pixels. So wherever I went, whenever I saw interesting stuff, I just used the cell phone to take pictures. And the quality was very good.
When I got the cell phone 10 months ago in USA, the salesman told me this cell phone could do the same kind of thing as I wanted. I bought it back, and then tried to take pictures soon, but I found out that the quality was so bad. I never use the cell phone to take pictures anymore.
Time is changing. I believe the techniques are becoming more and more advanced. I’d like to try the top free phones to see I could get the nice cell phone that I wanted.
