In China, when you apply for a job, there are something you have to put on your resume.
After your name, soon comes the gender. Some company would tell you clearly about that they do not need women.

And then comes the nationality. And then you have to show them when you were born. If you are old enough, maybe you need not apply for that job.

And then comes the political status, they ask you about if you are communist or not. If you were, normally you could have some preference and vice versa.

And then height and weight, some person went for interview but got rejected because of the height.

If you were not healthy and have some disability, you need not apply for the job, otherwise you will get laughed at.

In the end you have to show picture, if you are a little bit ugly, maybe your resume will be put into the garbage can.

Can you imagine how much it would be discrimination in other country.

Normally if you go to another country, you have to go through the customs. In the customs, you will get everything checked. But for big country, customs only can be set up in some spots. There is no way to put people along all the national boundaries.

For example, between Mexico and America, the boundaries are so long that people just can walk over. Between Canada and America, when winter comes, you can walk over from the ice. When I was in university, we had no right to choose any major. After I got to Beijing, I knew I had to learn Japanese. And we did not have right to choose any subject. The university side decided everything for us. We had to learn about Marxism no matter what kind of major you were. If you did not pass this subject, you would get a bad score and could not graduate.

Also there was a subject named moral. Normally they let some of the students decide your score. If you were not good friend with that group, you would get bad score for your moral.

Unfortunately, I got bad score for my moral. That is China.
