rice.............

I am a rice person. Before I went to Beijing, breakfast, lunch and diner were all rice. Rice was our main food in the south of China.

After I came to America, we saw some rice in the super market. But it was not so delicious as I had before. It tasted like that the rice was stored in storage for 10 years. It was not fresh and not sweet.

After we came to NY, we were looking for good rice every weekend. It is difficult to know what kind of rice was good or bad. Later I just figured out the rice in the price chopper was very bad. We bought one bag from there. After cooked and cooled down, it tasted like sand and hay.

And the price is becoming more expensive. What the world wants to do with me?

Posted on April 28th, 2008 in Arts & Humanities, Business & Economy, Syndicated Articles, life, memoirs, travel by jiajun925
Beijing conducted the last large-scale trial operation for the Subway Automatic Fare Collection System (AFC subway system) on April 27th, according to Beijing News.

paper tickets of  Beijing Subway

The staff concerned revealed that the AFC subway system will be put into ...

when I was in Beijing, the ticket for the subway was 0.5 RMB. Every time when I went to take subway, it was full of people. Of course it was paper tickets. Normally there were some staff sitting or standing in front of the gate to tear up your ticket.

Two years later, the ticket for the subway went up. It was 2.00 RMB. People complained a lot.  Although there were a lot of people in the subway.

In 2004, I went back to Beijing. And I took subway again. The price was 5.00 RMB. And there was new line directly going to my old university. The ticket was changed to a small card that can go into a machine.
