financial health

Posted on July 16th, 2008 in Business & Economy by jiajun925

Sometime it is really good to know our financial health. So I visited http://www.bills.com/iq/ to see if we are ‘Financially Fit’ or not. It is difficult for me to continue every step with a happy face because our financial situation was not so good. I got to know that we’d better to do Debt consolidation.
We got married 3 years ago. Both of us were poor students in Japan. We graduated in the same time and we came back to USA last September. Fortunately honey got a job; otherwise we had to end up with living in the street.
And then after half a year, we bought a house. Honey sighed that the next 30 years were sold to the bank now. I think many people have the same feeling after they got their house. People think that the bank is the real own for the house because we got a loan from the bank and we have to pay that off in time. Otherwise people just fall into a nightmare with a big debt that could make you have a bankruptcy.
I tried to look for job, but I still did not find any yet because the economy in USA is going down now. Now with honey’s salary, we have to pay for car loan, mortgage and anything that needs money.

the first trip to NYC (14) — taking subway

The second day when we got up, we tried to go to Chinatown in Manhattan. I was thinking to go there and take some pictures of old temples, if there was there.

We went down the ground, the whole thing looks like old caves , or  air-raid shelters. There was no any tools, such as escalates or elevators to help people moving in that. If you were a traveler with a big suit case, definitely in one minute you would get exhausted.

When we got to the entrance, there was another Asian lady could not get into the entrance with the ticket. She went to talk to the staff, fortunately there was a man there. (The second when we went to take subway back, honey got a ticket, but the machine could not recognize the ticket, and he had to buy another ticket. There was no man there you could ask for help.) The black man yelled out “going to the first entry”. But it seems that in such place, people in the box could hear from you, you could not hear so clearly outside of the box.

There were bars on the entry, looking like the gate of jail.

cell phone

When I found free at&t cell phones, I feel that I want to try the new cell phones in USA.
I bought one cell phone last year. It was the newest in USA, but it did not work so well as the one I had in Japan, which I used for more than 3 years.
I had 3 cell phones in Japan totally. All of them were AU. I did not like the first two cell phones so much. After I came to USA, I found that the cell phones in USA are falling behind the ones in Japan at least for 4 years.
Let’s tell you how wonderful the third cell phone I had was. First I got that 4 years ago. The basis cost was 1 Yen, which was $0.009541. You could think that the basis cost was free. And because I was a student, I could get student discount for the calling rate. And the plan I joined already had 100 minutes for free. That was perfect for me. And the functions in the cell phone were wonderful. There was a digital camera in the cell phone with 3.1 Giga pixels. So wherever I went, whenever I saw interesting stuff, I just used the cell phone to take pictures. And the quality was very good.
When I got the cell phone 10 months ago in USA, the salesman told me this cell phone could do the same kind of thing as I wanted. I bought it back, and then tried to take pictures soon, but I found out that the quality was so bad. I never use the cell phone to take pictures anymore.
Time is changing. I believe the techniques are becoming more and more advanced. I’d like to try the top free phones to see I could get the nice cell phone that I wanted.

the first trip to NYC (13) — hotel in NYC

We finally checked in. We paid $240 for one night. The room was on the 4th floor. So we took elevator. The elevator was so small that it was difficult for us to stand in that.

After we came to the 4th floor, we saw the hall was so narrow. And then we opened the door, in the room there was just a twin bed there. I tried to open the window. I opened the curtain and just saw another wall over there. Maybe it was one meter away.

There was a bathroom and a shower there. When I pushed the button of the toilet, it made so strange and aloud noise.

After we rested for some hours, at night honey was going to take shower and then he found that the water did not come out so much. He said that was the worst shower after the shower he had in my hometown.

So I did not take shower that night and did not brush my teeth. There were no tooth brushes there and we did not find where we could buy that.

It really was not worth how much we paid.

for good-looking

Everybody has a unique face. Some people’s face looks like a melon seed. Some people’s face looks like an oval. For beauty, some people use their hair style to change their face looking, such as long hair, or short hair. For gentleman, it is not so good to keep long hair forever. You know you could go to ZenniOptical.com and get a pair of unique glasses for your face. Glasses are another way to change your looking. If you need more information, Zenni on Fox would show you useful information.

the first trip to NYC (12) — gay couple in the hotel

Posted on July 11th, 2008 in Arts & Humanities, Health/Fitness/Beauty, Society & Culture by jiajun925

we were exhausted. In such big city, there was no free place you could sit down. Big city is not for poor people. In such humid island, it is full of the smell of urine. I could not understand why rich people could enjoy their life here. We decided to go back to the hotel and sit there until we could check in.

We sat near the window in the hall of the hotel, so we could watch the people in the street.

Honey was sitting next to me. Sometime he found funny thing faster than I did.  When I  was enjoying who had big boobs from pedestrians, he told me that there was a gay couple in the hall and they did kiss. I was wondering why he did not tell me whey they were kissing each other. There were two boys in front of the counter holding hands and waiting for check-in. The boy in the left acted like a spoiled girl to his lover.

That was the first time I really saw gay couple.

bring the GPS with you!

I like doing hiking very much. But sometime it is very easy to get lost in big parks or in the mountain. I was strongly recommended to bring GPS tracking with me when I go for hiking. You know, in America, everywhere it is so wide but there are not so many people around. Not like China, every place you go, it is full of people.
GPS tracking is also necessary stuff for mountain climbers. When you got lost or were in danger, you can call for help and tell people the exact place where you were. The most dangerous thing is that when you try to all for help, but the battery was over or the wave could not get any signals. In such time, you could take full use of the GPS tracking and try to go to some safe place.

the first trip to NYC (11) — NBC studios

NBC studios

NBC studios

Before we went to NYC, honey tried to spend some quality time in the city because that was the first time for both of us to visit the NYC. First he wanted to some music club. I did not say yes. I was thinking if we walked for a whole day in the city, there would be no energy to enjoy some music at night.  In the end, honey tired to go to NBC studios to see some high technique since NBC is one part of GE.

After we came out from the Japanese restaurant, hardly could we walk anymore. We did not eat the food so much. But because of the weather and environment, we were beaten up by food.

We entered the NBC studios, we did not where to go. And also it was the lunch time, suddenly there were many people coming out from all kinds of hiding caves. There were people and people everywhere. We got lost in the crowd, in the building. We did not see what kind of thing we could see.

Nikon Monarch ATB

Posted on July 9th, 2008 in Uncategorized by jiajun925

When you go out for camping in nice whether, I recommend you bring Nikon Monarch ATB with you.
Sometime bird watching is a very enjoyable thing to do. You know, some birds can do many kinds of incredible thing, such as proposal dancing, singing, playing with each other or fight with each other. When you walk close to them, definitely they will fly away. The only way to enjoy their unique actions is to put on Nikon Monarch ATB and watch them from some distance.
The amazing thing is that when it starts raining, you still can use that, because it is 100% Waterproof/Fogproof/Shockproof Ultra-rugged, rubber-armored, roof-prism design.

the first trip to NYC (10) — having lunch in Japanese restaurant

coming out from the buffet, I recommended to have a lunch.  Because we only could check in the hotel at 2:30, I’d like to have lunch first and check in and then have a nice rest, I did not like that after check-in, and when I was ready to rest, but soon I would feel hungry. And also because I am a person who eats in the right time.

We saw a Japanese restaurant — Sapporo Ramen. We ordered. But it seemed that both of us could not eat and enjoy the food so much. We just had sandwich one hour ago in the star bucks.

After a little while, three person came in and sat next to us, two Japanese ladies and one white man. When they tried to order food, the two Japanese ladies ordered in English, but the white man did in Japanese. And then they began talking in Japanese. He could speak Japanese so fluently. For me, it is a little bit uncomfortable to see a white a man speaking Japanese so fluently.
